Pirates have their eyes set on hijacking the massive cargo freighter, the 'Sea Star', and holding all the crew hostage. Only one person can stop them.
You.
Enjoy a mini-adventure inspired by AAA-blockbuster titles! Wreak havoc on your unsuspecting foes as you try to regain control of the ship.
Created over a month, as an experiment to bring Uncharted-style atmosphere to a top-down shooter.
Built with Unity 4 Free. Uses custom movement, weapons, menus, and enemy AI system.
Having just completed a marathon of the Uncharted series on PS3, I was inspired to explore that aesthetic and atmosphere in my own games.
Only a couple of weeks into development did I realise how immense the task was! Creating an action-adventure starring human characters is a lot of work!
Having never worked with human characters before, this was uncharted territory (hah!) for me. Character animations, keyframing, and using Mecanim was a part of the development process.
I also implemented a dynamic camera system that mixed a realtime approach to following the character, but also utilised pre-built camera patterns when in
special locations (the wide zoom-pan whilst traversing the edge of the ship is one)
This kind of game requires a lot of resources and time to put together well. I'd love to return to this universe and develop the character and story further in the future.
